How many years in the symphony?
This is my second season. I am still one of new members in the symphony.
Why did you become a professional musician?
I grew up playing piano when I was 5 and switched to violin a few years later. My Mom once told me that it seemed like I did not easily give up, and she saw I was actually enjoying it throughout any successes from competitions or auditions, and it naturally made me into this profession until now. Although I would say it was not always an easy path for me as I got many rejections and failures along the way, but I have always considered it immensely rewarding.
Musical hero?
One of my teachers Alex Kerr. He is such a role model to me and studying with him led me to have an orchestra career. He is one of the most hard-working people I know. I admire that he always has a confident manner and a passion in his career that can push me through to where I want to go.
Favorite spots around town?
I am still new to area but I do love finding a good coffee place! I like that there are many local coffee places to try such as O’henry’s, Seeds Coffee, Innova Coffee, Revelator, and Filter!
